Overview

Discover the town of Girona on a guided walk through its old town and Jewish quarter. Admire medieval churches, ancient streets, and the colorful houses that line the bank of the Rio Onyar.

This tour starts with hotel pickup in Barcelona. First, travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to Girona for a walking tour of the city. See the cathedral steps and the Monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, sites where season 6 of Game of Thrones was filmed.

Take a break for lunch on your own and sample some of Girona's famous cuisine. Next, head to the medieval village of Pals for a stroll through its historic baroque centre.

The last stop of the day is at a beautiful fishing village on the Costa Brava, where you can swim in the clear waters, soak up the sun, or take a walk along the shore.

Esglesia de Sant Feliu

Drive from Barcelona to Girona (70 minutes). See the column of the lion and the outside of Sant Feliu church where the legend of 'Sant Narcis and the flies' emerges and get details about Girona's local heroes Sant Narcis and Sant Feliu (20 minutes).

From the church of Saint Feliu we start a walk to the monasteries of Sant Pere Galligants and the square of the judges, where we see some of the filming locations of Game of Thrones. From here we cross walk along the city walls heading towards the cathedral.

After crossing the city gates, we come to the cathedral of Santa María, former Roman temple and important filming location for Game of Thrones. Walk of the Jewish Quarter down to Pujada de San Domenech.

We cross the Onyar river and see the colourful houses built along the riverside. This is the compulsory selfie location.

There is nothing like a private tour, which my husband and I realized after this experience! Girona and Costa Brava are a must-see outside the Barcelona City center. These areas are well-preserved, clean, charming, and truly beautiful! Our tour guide, Andre, took us out to the different cities (Girona (GOT), Pals, and Calella de Parafrugell) which were a pleasure to see, each easily capturing our hearts! Andre knows the history of the places where he took us which was very important to us! He treated us as good friends, which greatly impacted the overall experience! The tour was well-organized and stress-free. The last part of the tour, which included private time for my husband and me to explore Calella (a coastal town) and take pictures right in time for sunset was truly a great way to end the day!
