Overview

At first glance, the Gràcia district of Barcelona appears to be the gatekeeper of the resurgent Catalan identity: “Free Catalonia!” graffiti scrawled in the backstreets, Catalan flags flying from so many balconies, the distinct sound of the Catalan language heard in cafés and eateries. But as one explores the covered markets, bakeries and small bodegas of this colorful, lesser-explored area, the politics du jour recede and the deep culinary roots of this unique culture come into view.

Don't take any other food tour except this one!

it was simply wonderful. Paula is so knowledgable, so charming, so funny. This was my third CB food tour and once again it exceeded my expectations.

This was such an amazing experience. First Lior was so friendly, knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable. I was there solo and the group rapport was fun and chatty! The food stops were great, introducing the group to local Catalan food, drinks and snacks. It was my favorite part of the weekend! I also wouldn’t have made it to Gracia if not for this food tour and loved the neighborhood and vibe. Would recommend to anyone!
Love love loved it

This tour was fabulous. I like to think I'm a bit of a foodie but the guide was so knowledgeable I have to reassess myself! So many fabulous treats along the way. Perfect way to spend the day!
Get to know the Vila de Gracia in Barcelona.

I highly recommended this experience with visits to the market, bar, cafe, and local shops of the Gracia neighborhood of Barcelona, and area rarely visited by visitors.

Paula is very knowledgeable about food, food history, as well as local culture. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our experience with her.
Amazing experience

Culinary Backstreets had been recommended by two different sets of friends, and they were absolutely right. We had an amazing day with our very personable and knowledgeable guide Senem; we learned more about the history and culture - and, of course, food - of the Catalan region than we ever expected. And Senem followed up with an email regarding the places we visited and the food/drink we consumed - MUCH appreciated! A wonderful tour - cannot recommend highly enough.
A great food experience but overpriced.

Clear and concise history of Cataluña food.
A good length of tour.
Excellent guide- Lior. Engaging and very. knowledgeable. Also a very likeable guide
Excellent choice of venues visited. The owners were mostly accepting of tourists.
The pace was very nice.
My only concern was paying in US dollars made this tour somewhat overpriced for Barcelona.
