The project was fun and walking by Gaudi’s creation and other landmarks were quite charming. Will be back to this city to do the art again.

We had a great walking tour with our guide, Barbara, who showed us several sites of modernist architecture, including the Gaudi Casa Battlo (sadly under construction) and Casa Vicens. The highlight was the two-hour mosaic workshop with Livia, a local mosaic artist, who was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Definitely a highlight of our time in Barcelona!
Great way to experience trencadis art

The workshop was the highlight. The studio we went to only offered three options of paperboard to create the tile art. Wish there were other paperboard cutouts to choose from. Thats why I am giving four stars. Once you pick the paperboard you piece broken tiles on it to create a design. The end was rushed particularly After the grout was applied. This workshop should be held for 5 hours and not 3.
Fun, but confusing, and a little too rushed in the workshop

I struggled between a 3 and a 4 here for some logistical information I'll cover below.

The art workshop was a lot of fun. Our instructor was one of the artists working on the restoration of Casa Batllo (one of Gaudi's pieces) - so that was super cool. It was also really interesting to see her studio and the art pieces she was working on. She gave us an introduction to the trencadis style and some tips on creating pieces.

I wish the workshop portion had been longer, because most of the group was rushed to finish up our pieces on time. It would have been great too to get even more insight and instruction on how to create the art. This was part was great and I would happily have paid more to extend it!

The walking tour was fun for the portion that I was able to experience of it. It was really confusing figuring out how to find the tour guide, unfortunately, so we missed the first half of the walking portion. Our initial email with the tickets listed the wrong address and even the confirmation email we received the night before the tour listed that same incorrect address.

The company did send out a separate email with the correct address, but this was from a different email address which (I found out later) was sent to my spam folder. So watch out for that! The tour guide was very understanding about this though. She had tried to text me the morning of to ensure that I knew where to go (sadly, I didn't have international service on my phone) and later on when I called the tour company from a local phone, they connected me to the guide and she arranged a meet up point for us on the tour route.

I wish the tickets and confirmation email had come with the correct address, because there was really no way for me to know to check my spam folder for an additional email from another address. And I was super bummed to miss the beginning of this tour.

If you're careful to know where to meet (and not trust the ticket information), I recommend this tour.
