Overview

Costa Brava is becoming a more and more famous place. And its fame is completely deserved. To be honest, Costa Brava (about 200 diferent beaches and 200 km from north to south) is one of the most beatiful coasts in the whole Iberian Peninsule and doesn't have to envy anything from Mallorca or Ibiza.

Most of people when they have to visit Costa Brava they use to go to the biggest towns and resorts, which are ready to host tens of thousands of tourists per night. My intention is showing sites way more interesting, also pretty busy in July, August and weekends from April to October, but more beautiful in nature and heritage.

Any season is interesting for going to Costa Brava:
-Winters. The weather is not as bad, about 12ºC-17ºC in the afternoons and you can see the sea and the snow at the same time.
-Spring. Warmer weather and beautiful nature with canola and puppies flower fields.
-Summer. Too busy but the best time for swimming.
-Autumn. Less busy and perfect weather.

What To Expect

After driving 1h30 min from Barcelona, we will face Peratallada. It is an old medieval town. The beauty of this tour consists in combining wonderful beaches with spectacular old towns with castles and fortress. This small village is surrounded by a XII century wall with its own moat. Also you will enjoy walking down the old streets and tasting local ice-creams, horchatas and muffins. We will spend about 45 min in Peratallada.

Pals
Depending on the season or on the wishes of the customers, we can do just one or two different old medieval towns. Pals is a bit more touristy than Peratallada and it helps a bit in off-season, because even then we will find different cafeterias and souvenir stores.

Do you like ceramics? In this area handcrafters make the best ceramics in Catalonia and one of the best in the whole Spain. If you are really interested in ceramics let me know beforehand.

From Pals we will have a nice view of the area: Pyrenees, Costa Brava and even rice, sunflowers and wheat fields.

And don't miss 'Ratafia' a local digestive and alcoholic drink.

Begur
Begur is my favourite town in Costa Brava. Not only because of the beauty of the town itself with the famous 'cases indianes', but also because of the surroundings with spectacular thick sand beaches with big cliffs and gorgeous views.

Here could be a perfect spot for a nice lunch. I know all the restaurants in the area. It doesn't matter if you don't eat fish or sea food.

Calella de Palafrugell
When we talk about Costa Brava we always think about Calella de Palafrugell because this is probably with Cadaquès, the most representative town in Costa Brava. The white houses used to belong in the past to the local fishermen who traded wine, cork, coral, etc. Nowadays, Calella is a modern touristy village, plenty of good restaurants and perfect for easy short walks.

Eating in Calella is slightly less expensive (not a big difference) than in Begur. Here I also know a big variety of restaurants.

Costa Brava
Costa Brava is a big coaster region. If you want to customize a private tour, we can change or add new stops. For instead, we can focus more in beaches, booking a kayaking session, watching a ceramics workshop, sailing between caves and islands, or spending more time in other medieval towns.
Girona city, famous because of its wonderful old town: jewish quarter, Cathedral, game of thrones, amateur cycling would be a nice option.
After that, we will head back Barcelona again.
