Overview

This experience is a unique look into the history of the only musical genre invented in Europe in the 20th century. It is a story about music, resilience, tolerance, immigration, community and more.
The Catalan Rumba is a lively style of music and it is impossible that one can sit still when listening to it, and today we will prove it. How it came to be invented, what are its roots and the history of those who create it is truly a marvellous and often untold piece of Barcelona's own history.
During this unique walking experience we discover amazing stories about Paseo de Gracia, the Vila de Gracia neighbourhood, its residents and the revolutionary spirit that fuels this little corner of Barcelona for centuries.
Finally, we meet today's custodians of the Catalan Rumba and you get to see if you can stay still when the rumba plays. We finish in traditional style with an aperitif of vermouth and a tapa at a local bar.
