What To Expect

Passatge de la Concepcio
Until moving on to explore Montserrat's natural splendour, the journey starts on the upper Passeig de Gracia. Most famous peak in Catalonia. Montserrat is surrounded by a monastery of Benedictines and is the ideal half-day for spending a day in the countryside, a few kilometers from Barcelona.

On the way to the monastery, admire the Massif of Montserrat, a spectacular multi-peaked rocky range packed of unique needle-shape formations. Upon arrival, visit the monastery with over 70 monks that was founded in the 11th century and still functions to this day. It is well known for hosting the figure of La Moreneta, who is the patron saint of Catalonia. Your guide will bring history alive by explaining the history and ventures of this monastery dating back nearly a thousand years.

Next, board the Sant Joan Railway to observe the area’s fascinating flora and fauna following a trail with soft trekking with a specialized guide in Montserrat Natural Park.
